Unlock the Entrance First

The Mines are located at the northern end of The Narrows. Their entrance opens through the Unlocking the Mines story sequence rather than through a tool upgrade alone. Complete The State of the Mines, reach Town Rank 10 or Stone Rank, and follow the instruction to meet Eiland and Errol at the entrance.

The State of the Mines begins from Eiland’s Spring 6 Year 1 letter and a Museum meeting. Reaching the rank gate without that story step can leave the sequence incomplete. Check mail, the quest log, the date, and the named meeting before treating a closed entrance as a technical problem.

Once opened, the Mines provide resources, monsters, artifacts, and progression found nowhere else. Official game material frames mining, combat, magic, and ancient ruins as connected parts of the adventure. Keep a separate unlock guide available when the question is about the door rather than exploration inside.

Descend by Finding Ladders

Progress through ordinary floors by finding a ladder to the next level. Ladders can appear as rocks are broken or monsters are defeated, so both mining and combat may contribute to a descent. Scan the floor before spending all remaining stamina on objects far from the exit route.

The Mines are divided into themed biomes with their own resources and hazards. The structured reference organizes them as the Upper Mines, Tide Caverns, Deep Earth, Lava Caves, and Ancient Ruins. This page avoids reproducing spoiler-heavy floor tables while preserving the overall progression structure.

Breakable objects such as crates and barrels can also contain relevant loot. Cracks and rocks provide biome-specific materials, while monsters introduce combat drops and risk. Keep enough inventory space to separate a new museum find or quest item from ordinary resources before returning to the farm.

Manage Health, Stamina, and Time

Mining consumes stamina while combat can reduce health, so an efficient visit is limited by more than the clock. Complete urgent farm maintenance before a long run and carry only supplies whose purpose is understood. This guide does not invent a universal food count because upgrades, perks, route depth, and player comfort change the need.

Use early trips to learn the current biome and the cost of reaching it. A shorter run that returns with useful materials is still progress, especially when those items support tools, crafting, quests, or museum donations. Attempt deeper exploration when the day and available resources make it reasonable.

Review each new item before selling it. Artifacts may need identification, some finds belong in museum sets, and quest materials can be harder to replace after being shipped. Duplicates can then support crafting, storage, gifts, or Tesserae based on verified current needs.

Connect Seals, Biomes, and Magic

Mine progression uses seals and story quests to open later areas. Each gate belongs to its own documented chain, so clearing ordinary floors does not automatically replace the related objective. Follow the tablet or seal quest text and avoid using an older spoiler list as proof of a current requirement.

Magic spells also unlock alongside Mines progression. The first spell arrives after reaching the early Mines milestone documented by the magic reference, while later areas grant additional farming, exploration, and combat utility. Spells cost Mana, which recovers over time or through supported consumable systems.

The official full release completes and extends major progression beyond the Early Access stopping points. Returning players should update the game and revisit unfinished Mines objectives rather than assuming the older boundary still applies. Current patch notes remain the source for fixes added after the base 1.0 release.

Build Mining and Combat Skills

Mining and Combat are two of the game’s nine tracked skills. Performing their related activities raises their levels and opens higher tiers of skill perks. The dragon statue within the Mines manages the perks for these two skills, while Caldarus’ farm statue handles the other activity groups.

Essence collected through play is the currency used to unlock perks. Perks can be toggled at the relevant statue, allowing the active setup to change without presenting every early choice as permanent. Exact costs and tier tables should be checked against a current structured reference before being published as a calculator.

Treat Mines progression as a connected loop: unlock the entrance, learn each biome, protect health and stamina, follow seal quests, route discoveries, and invest Essence deliberately. Let the current objective determine whether the next visit should gather materials, explore, or advance a seal. This creates steady progress without inventing floor deadlines or claiming one weapon, food, or perk order is mandatory for every save.
