Keep the Existing Save or Start Fresh
The official 1.0 FAQ states that all existing saves carry over to the full release. Players can access the new content regardless of how far they previously progressed, so an old farm is not automatically obsolete. Keep the save when continuity, collections, relationships, upgrades, and completed story work matter to you.
Starting fresh remains a personal choice rather than a technical requirement. A new file can provide a clean view of the revised progression and let you experience the full sequence in release order. It should not be presented as the only safe route, because the developer explicitly supports carried-over saves.
Before making a decision, preserve the old file and load it after the game is fully updated. Review what the save already completed before assuming an unfamiliar quest marker means corruption. Version 1.0 finishes systems that previously stopped at Early Access boundaries, so new objectives can appear around established progress.
Load Once for Retroactive Achievements
Steam achievements were added in version 1.0.0. The official patch notes state that achievements are received retroactively after an existing save is loaded and are populated from that save’s data. You do not need to repeat every early accomplishment merely to make an eligible achievement appear.
The official FAQ repeats that a new save is not required for achievements. Players who prefer to earn them without a wave of retroactive unlocks can begin a separate fresh file instead. That is a preference about the experience, not evidence that the old save is incompatible.
After loading, give the game time to finish its checks and then review the Steam achievement list. If something expected is absent, compare its actual condition with the save rather than relying on memory. Later patches include achievement fixes, so confirm the current patch before treating one missing unlock as permanent.
Review the Full-Release Systems
Version 1.0 completes the Town Repair questline and raises the Town Renown cap to 100. It also adds the Mistril Town Rank event and Town Rank quests intended to guide the expanded progression. A returning save near an old cap may therefore receive new rank goals and rewards instead of remaining finished.
The release adds ten-heart proposal events, wedding events, marriage, children, engagement dialogue, post-marriage routines, and related choices. The Engagement Ring becomes craftable after reaching ten hearts with a character the player is dating, according to the official notes. Relationship systems should be reviewed before proposing because engagement can affect other dating statuses through settings explained by the game.
The museum can now be completed, its wing rooms can be entered, and two new sets were added. Town Repair gains its conclusion, the Saturday Market Plaza and Bell Tower quests, while Stillwell and Zorel expand the market after they are unlocked. Use the version page for the complete grouped summary instead of treating this checklist as a substitute for the official notes.
Revisit Mines and Town Progress
The Mines storyline was completed before the final 1.0 launch, and 1.0 adds another Friday Night at the Inn storyline after that Mines story is finished. A returning player who stopped at an old underground boundary should check the quest log and current mine progress. Do not assume an earlier guide’s final floor or seal represented the finished release.
Town Rank remains connected to shipping, museum donations, and quests, while the official release extends its cap and adds guidance. Check the Renown reward chest near the Request Board and review available Town Rank quests. This is more reliable than grinding a single activity without confirming what the save already unlocked.
Town Repair, market access, the museum, Mines progress, and relationship goals can overlap. Select one major unfinished chain, then combine ordinary farm and town tasks around it. A focused return is easier to understand than opening every new marker and changing direction several times in one game day.
Install the Current Patch Before Troubleshooting
Version 1.0.1 followed the full release with targeted bug and crash fixes. Its official notes include fixes for date photos, several Mines crashes, schedule-related save loading, localization crashes, and invalid mod wallpaper handling. These details matter when a returning save encounters a problem that appeared immediately after launch.
Version 1.0.2 is the latest official patch covered by this site as of August 11, 2026. It adds hairstyles, improves overlay performance, extends several beta localizations, fixes the Shooting Star Festival softlock, and addresses multiple gameplay and crash issues. Update before rebuilding a farm layout or abandoning a save because of behavior already covered by the patch.
The 1.0.2 notes still list ongoing performance, graphics, and localization work. If performance remains poor, the developer first recommends updating graphics drivers and the computer. Use the updates hub to distinguish a confirmed known issue from an older report attached to a previous version.
Recheck Settings and Localization
The full release adds graphics settings including brightness, saturation, and performance options. Returning players should review these settings because the engine and performance profile changed during the route to 1.0. Old visual assumptions may not match the current defaults or available controls.
Beta localizations launched for Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. The pre-release FAQ estimated about seventy-five percent completion for each beta language and explained that missing translated text would temporarily appear in English. Patch 1.0.2 adds more translations and corrections for several of those languages.
English remains useful when a beta translation is incomplete, but a missing localized line should not be turned into an invented quest instruction. Check the official patch notes and localization feedback channels when wording appears inconsistent. This site is English-only for the first release so its own guide terminology remains stable.
Choose the Best Return Route
Use the version 1.0 page when you want a complete change list organized by system. Use the updates hub when you need the current patch, fixes, and known-issue status. Use the getting-started hub only when you want to relearn the ordinary daily loop after a long break.
For an established save, choose one unfinished high-level goal such as Town Repair, Town Rank, museum completion, Mines progress, or a relationship milestone. Verify its prerequisites against the current quest log and reliable references before spending stored resources. This protects the save from advice written for a different Early Access cap or feature set.
Keep the original file even if you decide to start another farm. The official compatibility answer means it remains a valid way to experience the release content and collect eligible achievements. Returning carefully gives you both continuity and a clean basis for judging what version 1.0 actually changed.
